  • Is there a difference between PACER and CM/ECF?

Yes. Public Access to Court Electronic Records (PACER) is an electronic public access service that allows users to obtain case and docket information from federal appellate, district, and bankruptcy courts and from the PACER Case Locator. A login and password must be issued by PACER. Please visit the PACER Service Center at for additional information.

Case Management/Electronic Case Files (CM/ECF) is a nationally-supported system for docketing, reporting, and filing of documents in electronic format. The CM/ECF system allows for 24-hour desktop access to case files by judges, court staff, attorneys of record, and the general public. Attorneys or pro se parties who wish to file electronically in this court must register for electronic filing and receive a login and password issued by this court.
